Here are some examples of recent projects the RS Renewables team have been involved with:

Solar PV Power Plant in Spain


Solar PV Trackers
Rob designed and project managed a 500 kWp utility scale PV plant in southern Spain. The plant was built with products from suppliers in Spain, Holland, Italy and the Czech Republic . The design was validated using software tools such as PVSYST. This challenging project involved remotely managing sub-contractors and co-ordinating suppliers from several countries.

The first Phase, a €800,000 project has been operating for more nearly two years.

Wind Turbine Projects


Iskra 5kW Wind Turbine
Rob managed the delivery of a number small wind projects in the UK implementing the required procedures, systems, logistics and selecting suitable sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure a smooth delivery.

The projects range from single to multi-turbine sites and range from 5kW-20kW.

For a large utility Rob managed their entire small wind turbine installation programme for their customers under a single on stop shop contract.

Micro-generation Certification

Rob has managed the certification of several medium sized renewable energy companies’ certification under the government backed Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for solar PV and small wind. The achievement of this ensured that their customers can claim grants under the Low Carbon Buildings Programme and they are ready to supply systems that qualify for the new Feed-in Tariffs.

The project included designing an implementing a quality system for products, sub-contractors and installers as well as a health and safety management system.

Renewable Energy Feasibility Study


Working with a school to review their energy usage and assess the suitability of various renewable energy options. The school already has an Eco-Schools bronze award and has aspirations to ultimately achieve Green Flag status. Renewable energy is one aspect of this. Using the Renewable Energy Feasibility Study the school has been able to plan a road map to increasing it’s Eco-schools credentials as well as improving energy efficiency.
